Argentina, El Chaltén

Away from the mosquitos and boiling temperatures in Buenos Aires our next stop was El Calafate, our starting point in Patagonia.

Starting our short day trek (six hours) from the village of El Chaltén to Mount Fitz Roy slapping on the suncreen.

Still along way to go to reach the glacier.

Finally we made it. The weather changed drastically as it often does in Patagonia, with the temperature dropping as we approached the glacier we opted to go no further. We couldn't have been happier to have to turn back.

Heading away from the storm, Bart cracked open a bottle of fine Cafayate red. There is no better way to warm up.
