Colonia del Sacramento is an old colonial town in Uruguay that we visited for the day from Buenos Aires. I can safely say that spending three hours in this little town is ample time, however not realising the time difference we missed our ferry back to Buenos Aires which meant another several hours had to be passed in this sleepy place. The historic quarter is beautiful dating back to the 17th Century and is a UNESCO world heritage site. But despite it's charm we couldn't wait to get back to the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, regretting ever leaving it in the first place.
